Old Welsh Remedy ensures cough free Carols
The Concert was held at the Grosvenor Chapel Mayfair in December 2009, and all the performers were given a supply of Allens Cough Lozenges to make sure their performances were cough-free. One of the performers to benefit was Jonathan Ansell, of the opera group G4.
The original Allens Remedy enabled sheep farmers to continue commanding their sheep dogs by relieving sore throats and coughs. It soon became a favorite with male voice choirs, and priests were known to use it prior to giving sermons. Still made to the traditional recipe and still a small family business, Howard Dixon, of Allens Healthcare, said:
"The ingredients used in our cough lozenges and cough medicines include natural plant and herbal extracts which have been used for centuries to treat a range of winter ills and chills"
The original Pine and Honey Balsam remedy, formulated in the 1900's is still available today, and, building of the success of this product Allens have introduced a complete range of products to ease chesty coughs, dry coughs and sore throats.
Allens range of remedies are available from Beanfreaks Health Food Shops in Cwmbran, Newport and Cardiff, and from most pharmacies and health food shops. Or visit their website. www.allenshealthcare.co.uk.
